Shannon Gail is the owner of popular Chicago-based event planning firm, Shannon Gail Weddings and Events, and the force behind her growing brand, Shannon Gail Inc. Shannon obtained a degree in Finance from the University of Illinois and after a short stint at a downtown brokerage firm, decided she wanted to ditch the cubicle and become her own boss. Ten years later, Shannon Gail, Inc. is a team of 8 sought-after planners producing 80+ events per year locally, across the United States, and internationally.
Shannon has infused her life, financial background, and personal interests into the SG brand, now comprised of both social planning and corporate event production divisions. Her unique business model and approach to expansion has allowed the team to provide unrivaled client experiences and to evolve into the respected brand it is today.
With a continued passion for entrepreneurship, the inner workings of small businesses, and the desire to give back, Shannon is frequently seen speaking to students at local universities and inspiring future business moguls, and was the 2016 Marketing Chair for the Chicago Chapter of national nonprofit Wish Upon a Wedding.
When she is not working on all things SG, Shannon enjoys cooking, all things fitness, traveling abroad, sipping red wine, and spending time with her husband, baby girl Charlotte, and two poodle rescues, Andi and Mitzi (#thepoods).
Bridget is a seasoned event production professional with a passion for city living, fresh flowers, photo booths, and brunch. Often seen toasting with a great glass of bubbly or toting her French Bulldog on various shopping and planning excursions, her years of experience in event design and venue management coupled with her broad industry network give her an invaluable wealth of knowledge and expertise in which to share with her clients
Kendall honed her event planning skills through years of experience in venue management and catering before finding her home here on Team SG. Her broad knowledge of the industry combined with a natural sense of organization, creativity, and the ability to stay amazingly calm under pressure allows her clients a true confidence in the process. She attributes her calm demeanor to horse back riding, a good glass of red wine, and walks in Lincoln Park (so gorg!), but we think she’s just a total girl boss!
Kelly’s career in the events industry began to take shape in college, where she planned and executed events, weekends, and galas for her sorority. She further honed her experience as the Lead Assistant right here on Team SG, becoming an absolutely integral part of countless events before her promotion to Coordinator. She is the definition of a perfectionist, and her energy, confidence and “make it happen” attitude are crucial on an event day. She loves a good to-do list and plans out her schedule every single day – even time with her pup (Teagan) and horse (Diva)!
As a former client of SG, Marissa brings a unique and refreshing perspective to our team dynamic and repertoire. Through her work in recruiting, she has developed skills that are essential in the event industry. Her ability to build strong rapport and relationships, anticipate potential problems and solutions before they occur, and advanced organization and management skills make her an integral part of our team. She bakes a mean macaron (we know from experience!), is obsessed with reality TV, and her favorite thing in the world is being a mom to her little bff, Gianna!
Growing up in the hospitality industry, Samantha has been honing her event planning skills since she was just a kid, holding countless roles with her family’s catering company and event venue. Her innate ability to think quickly and confidently problem solve on the spot allow her to defuse situations before they even arise. She is best described as the SG Team Member with the most fabulous lip color and an iced coffee in hand (regardless of season!) Fun fact – she is also Shannon’s sister!
Sarah is a self-proclaimed foodie and hopeless romantic with a healthy obsession for coffee, all things Disney, and Christmas. Her ability to connect with people and remain collected and effective in high-stress situations makes her a true asset on an event day. After completing an internship with a fellow event planning firm and spending a few years in the advertising industry, she is thrilled to bring her passion and skillset to Team SG (and we are thrilled to welcome her Mini Bernedoodle, Teddy, to the SG pup clan!)
Elyssa is a true veteran of the events industry, having joined Team SG with an already impressive resume of social and corporate event planning, venue management and catering for some of Chicago’s top names. Her passion for the events industry stems from the ability to focus her broad skillset and talents into one creative outlet, organizing and educating clients on the process while also prioritizing design and detail. She is married to the man of her dreams, is Mom to two adorable sons, loves iced coffee, anything purple, and hot pink lipstick. Fun fact – she also speaks fluent Italian! Salute!
Social Media Manager
Erin is a true reflection of the SG brand inside and out. She began as an Assistant Coordinator on our team before being quickly promoted to a Lead Coordinator. She is now the sole content-creator and voice of all things SG on social media, folding her event experience into our unique brand personality across all channels including media accounts, blog, and other brand visuals. She also lives for Iced Chais, French Fries, and her sweet pup, Buckets.
