We’ve been talking about 2017 for months now.  2017 weddings, 2017 events, 2017 lunches, happy hours, etc.  – The truth is, we spend a good portion of our year planning for the following year (#plannerproblems), so saying and writing “2017” isn’t going to be a huge adjustment for us. That being said, we do really want to take some time to recognize the fact that 2016 will be ending in just three days, and to reflect and just be thankful for our wonderful year as it comes to a close. We’ve had the opportunity to be a part of countless beautiful weddings and events, meet an enormous amount of wonderful couples, and work with some of the most talented people we’ve ever met.  As we appreciate what a fantastic year 2016 was, we’re also taking the time to think about what we want for 2017 – Things that we’d like to see change, things that we hope remain the same, new goals, and new projects.  So today, we’re not going to show you a new present-wrapping technique or share a list of our “favorites” – We’re sharing our 2017 resolutions along with the highlights of this past year.  2016, you were good to us, but we are extremely excited to see what 2017 will bring!

{Shannon’s baby announcement}

Based on the news we shared earlier in the season, I am really working to find a healthy work-life balance in 2017 while still growing and bettering SG as a whole. I am also working to reprioritize what is important to me and trying to mentally settle into that realization. For example, replacing my daily workout and food-tracking obsession with more family time, nursery planning, and Gilmore Girls on Netflix is difficult but necessary, and it’s okay to eat the extra cookie. Cheers to 2017!

{Our last event of 2016… and we all got to work together!}

My 2017 resolutions are to join a gym, create a fitness plan and stick to it, wake up the first time my alarm goes off every morning ;), wear more lipstick, read at least one book per month, and at least two date nights per month with the hubby!

I’d like to break up with going to the grocery store every single day before dinner!  I’ll meal plan once a week, waste less groceries, and save time when it comes time to cook dinner!  Maybe even make a few meals on Sunday and freeze them?  I shouldn’t get ahead of myself….

{Every.single.one of our wedding weekends – This photo (by This Is Feeling) was taken at one of our largest weddings of the year that we were so proud to be a part of.}

My New Year’s Resolution for 2017 is to spend more time with people that matter. I am so lucky to be surrounded by amazing friends and family, but it is easy to get wrapped up in work and responsibilities. I am a firm believer that investing in relationships and people we care about will lead to a happier life, so that is my focus for 2017! My other mini resolution is to travel often and visit new cities because who wouldn’t want to do that?! :)

{Being featured on the Crate and Barrel blog was the “pinch me” moment of the year – Photo by Amanda Megan Miller}

In 2017,  I resolve to: (1) switch from paper receipts to e-receipts so that I don’t need to dedicate an entire desk drawer to receipts, (2) sleep with my phone far far away – Scanning emails and scrolling through Instagram is the first thing I do every day (before my eyes are even open), and I’d like to not be so obsessed with it!!! (3) get back into running – not very original, but running outside was one of my favorite things to do (once upon a time) and I would love nothing more than to get back into it come springtime!

My New Years Resolution for 2017 is to be more relaxed and surround myself with positive people. With the stresses in life and always being on the go, I need to learn to take a step back, take a deep breath and remind myself that everything will work out in the end because it always does, even if it is not the way I planned. Also in the past year I’ve learned to surround myself with positive people. I cherish my friendships and knowing that everyone around me truly cares about me and will always be there when I need them has really made me a much happier person. I want to keep the negativity behind me, moving forward.

{Our 2016 holiday party}

After a tough year of health problems in my family, my 2017 resolution is all about making more time to spend with the ones I love the most!

{Magazines are underrated… Being featured in The Knot magazine was pretty cool!}

I don’t believe in resolutions because I have very little willpower and break them all! ;)
