Working from home, you can get a bit stir-crazy.  You have to have a “Plan B” spot for when your kitchen counter, coffee table, and home office just won’t cut it.  Whether you’re in the mood for coffee, tea, lunch, or a cocktail while getting through your emails and to-do lists, Chicago is filled with options that have a little extra ambiance (we still love you, Starbucks ;)). Here are our top 5 places to go get work done:

SOHO HOUSE/THE ALLIS

Our love for The Allis at Soho House is real.  And you don’t need to be a member to reap the benefits of this place.  Their lobby/restaurant area, The Allis, is open to the public and is our favorite spot to sit down with our laptops and go to town on work (with a side of avocado toast).

RESTORATION HARDWARE/3 ARTS

A close second to Soho House, 3 Arts Cafe in Restoration Hardware is another go-to for us.  When the wait to get into the cafe is too long (which is almost always ;)), the next best plan is to get a latte to go and grab a seat at one of their dining tables around the store.

3 GREENS MARKET

We recently discovered 3 Greens and absolutely love it.  Nestled in River North near the East Bank Club, 3 Greens is the perfect spot to grab a coffee (and a donut) and tackle your inbox.

THE RIZ-CARLTON/DECA LOUNGE

Add this to your list of hot spots come summer 2018 (The Ritz lobby is currently under renovations). With specials that feel more like steals, their happy hour is the place to be for afternoon meetings, coworking with your pals, or working solo.  The view is incredible, and if it’s nice enough, you can head outside to their rooftop lounge when your to-do list is checked off! ;)
