Is it just us, or was this week all about the Met Gala?

If you missed the memo, the Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, i.e. the Oscars of the fashion world.  Year after year, we tune into E! News, Fashion Police, or Live from the Red Carpet (or all of the above), awaiting the arrivals of our favorite celebrities just dying to see what they’re wearing.  This year’s theme was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” and while the theme sounds tough to go with, we were actually inspired by the very futuristic, out of the box looks sported by Hollywood’s in crowd.  Shockingly enough, we were able to relate this to weddings, and who knows?  Maybe one of 2017’s biggest wedding trends will be futuristic.  (#JustSayin)  Today, we’re sharing our favorite Met Gala looks and how you can incorporate the trends into your wedding decor.

RACHEL McADAMS IN VALENTINO

When we see Rachel McAdams in her gold beaded Valentino dress, we think rich patterns, dramatic lines, and edgy glamour.  This wedding would be decked out in gold, geometric elements, and would scream futuristic glam.

We’re not saying Kendall’s sheer cutout Atelier Versace gown looks like a cover up, but we are definitely feeling “water” when we see this dress.  We’re envisioning an icy blue palette with silver accents and lots & lots of white.

This dress is giving us some major metallic inspiration with a modern, industrial feel.

IVANKA TRUMP IN RALPH LAUREN

Of all Met Gala looks, this is our favorite, and is one of the only ones a non-Met Gala attendant could pull off ;)

SOLANGE KNOWLES IN DAVID LaPORT

SG FF Met Gala 5

This outfit is unique, to say the least.  But when we see this look, we can perfectly envision a beautiful, colorful summer wedding.  Not only will yellow play a huge part in the color palette, but we’ll also find hints of greenery, pops of pink & peach, and gold accents.
