The day of my baby shower was truly one of the most surreal days of my life so far. It was one of those days similar to my wedding day where you feel like you’re just sort of floating in the clouds and you cannot believe this is all happening. The day we told our family we were pregnant, I will never forget that my Mom and Sister were so excited that they literally pulled out their phones and set a shower date right then and there.

I am lucky enough that my family runs Bloomingdale Golf Club in the suburbs where I grew up and celebrated many holidays and events through my life. There was really no question as to where my shower would be, and my parents were kind enough to provide an amazing brunch for our guests. My sister (and SG planner extraordinaire) Samantha completely designed and planned every last detail of the shower. I remember our first conversation when she asked what I might want for my shower, the only feedback I gave her was that I really wanted waffles and hated playing shower games. From there, I knew absolutely nothing about the day until I received the invitation in the mail and was let on to the subtle blush color palette.

Walking in that day, I was absolutely blown away at how stunning everything looked. The floor plan was dramatic with two extra-wide, long tables flanking the windows which overlook the golf course. The room was airy and dreamy with shades of blush, ivory, and gorgeous garlands of greenery draping each table and hanging from above. The details were absolutely impeccable from a handmade doughnut wall and mimosa bar to custom calligraphy signs and individual hand-painted floral cupcakes marking each guest’s chair.

We enjoyed a lovely brunch, complete with a Chef-run omelet station and of course, the requested waffle bar before we were joined by Steve and “the girls” – our two poodles Andi and Mitzi! Samantha truly thought of everything and even had “Big Sister” bandanas for the girls! I’m not sure who was more excited to have all of our closest friends and family in one room, but it’s certainly a close call between me and the poodles! We were truly lucky to be so loved and “showered” by everyone close to us, and our baby girl is even luckier to come into a world surrounded by so much love!

Thank you to so many of my talented industry friends who were so unbelievably generous. I am honored that you were a part of such a personal day for me, and so grateful!
