Emily and Tyler’s wedding was the epitome of gray, gold, and blush perfection.  Styling their wedding was one of Shannon’s favorite tasks of the year, as was getting to know this amazing couple and their families.  Drawing inspiration from the beautiful venue (The Rookery) and the couples’ relationship, the entire team created an evening that was both elegant and sophisticated, as well as personal and approachable.  Today, we are SO excited to share a sneak peek of their style guide and all of the fabulous photos captured by Cristina G Photography!

From Shannon… Emily and Tyler’s wedding was one of my favorites that I have ever styled, and it was entirely because of their amazing relationship and families! They wanted their night to be every bit of class and sophistication, while also remaining approachable and exuding their personality. The result was a stunning upscale fete at The Rookery building with fun and tasteful influences of their vibrant relationship!

The Rookery was the perfect setting for Emily and Tyler, and we decided to really embrace it and use it as the foundation to begin building the styling and details of the event. We used a soft palette of gold, gray, and blush to complement the space, and brought in elements of modern lucite with the candelabras and chairs. The contemporary look and sleek touch was a really great pairing to the otherwise very ornate and dramatic building. We channeled the era of the venue by offering guests original champagne cocktails served in vintage coupes, and pairing them with custom cocktail coasters with facts about the building’s history so that guests could grow to appreciate the space as much as we all did!

Every last detail was thought of, from custom Rookery stamps and wax seals of the Chicago skyline on the invitations, to mirroring the ornate detailing of the venue’s marble pillars on the wedding cake. From there, we topped off the event with some unexpected personal touches such as photos of the couple’s fur baby on the Save the Dates and table numbers, and a cigar bar with a live roller for the reception.  Guests danced the night away amongst hundreds of sparkling candles to an unexpected mix of the Groom’s favorite house music, which quickly became the star of the night as everyone was on the dance floor.

It was such a pleasure bringing Emily and Tyler’s perfect evening to life. They really leveraged on the venue, choosing colors that enhanced and did not work against the space. By embracing the venue, we were able to really customize the event and give guest’s a truly unique and memorable experience from beginning to end.
